I miss my wife!
She left for England yesterday to visit Sarah and Jack. She's been gone less than a day, but it seems like forever since I've seen her; and I miss her – a lot.
I'm like the little kid who comes home from school and shouts, “Mom. Mom. Mom!” until she answers. Once she answers, he knows all is right with the world. He doesn’t even need to see her, but he feels safe and secure then. I’m the same way: I don’t have to see Cheryl – just knowing she is near is enough.
When we married, I was madly in love with her. I still am, but that love has deepened to such a degree that it would have been impossible for me back then to even imagine what it would grow into. This is the woman who stuck with me through all my ups and downs, my trials and tribulations, and my heartaches and joys. This is the woman who went through pain and discomfort and made me a father. This is the woman who loved and encouraged me so that I could spread my wings and fly.
This is the woman of my dreams, one who was a beautiful daughter of God when I met her – the woman who has grown more and more beautiful over the years.
This is the woman I love more than life itself. My wife. My sweetheart. My eternal companion.
And I miss her.
